【レッスンで話そう！】どうやってクリスマスを祝いますか？

もうすぐクリスマス！
年末年始のお休みに入った方もいらっしゃいますよね。
皆さんはクリスマスをどのように過ごしますか？

How do you celebrate Christmas holidays in your country?

キリスト教徒以外なら、”Christmas”の部分を”year-end”（または“end-of-the-year”）に、新年ならば“New Year”に置き換えるだけでOKです。

例えば、「日本では、おせち料理を食べて正月のお祝いをします」と言いたければ、
次のように言えば良いでしょう。

In Japan, we celebrate New Year’s Day with a special feast called Osechi-ryori (or Japanese traditional New Year’s dishes).

一方、次のように日本の初もうでについて、次のように説明すると会話を盛り上げるきっかけになるかもしれません。

・お正月には、大勢の人が神社やお寺に初詣に行って、新しい年が良い一年になるようにお祈りします。
In Japan, many people visit Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in the beginning of the year, and they are crowded with those who visit to offer prayers for the new year.
